Implementation of Lean Six Sigma for production process optimization in a paper production company

Purpose: This study aimed at implementing lean six sigma to evaluate the productivity and manufacturing waste in production line of a paper companyMethodology/Approach: The is case nature. method illustrates how (LSS) used existing process company with focus on waste. considered real-time problem customer’s dissatisfaction. gathered data based machine functionality (up time, down time cycle time); materials labour flow every stages line. optimization was tools like value stream mapping, efficiency, Kaizen, 5S pareto chartFindings: Based application, it discovered that present performance below standard more wastes were generated. are reported as low efficiency (23.4 %), takt (4.11 sec), high lead (43200sec), number products not conforming values, (32.64 %) excess (33). After implementation for certain period there lots improvements terms all parameters considered.Research Limitation/ Implications: has demonstrated an application solving problems which have direct implication satisfaction. lesson learned implications presented can still be further modeled using some software validityOriginality/Value: contributed body knowledge field LSS manufacturing, unlike most literature concentrate discrete manufacturing.
